What is a low sperm count?
If the amount of sperm produced by a man is low or if the sperm is not up to standard, it will be difficult, and sometimes impossible, depending on how you get pregnant. The average male figure is 20 million per ml. It is considered low if there are less than 15 million ml. In a typical report at least 30% of sperm should be normal (immortal).
Causes:
Infertility is caused by problems affecting sperm production (such as decreased testicles caused by taking anabolic steroids) or sperm transport (sperm cells infected with Mycoplasma, their mobility may decrease during UTI). It can be caused by Hormone imbalances when the pituitary, hypothalamus, and testicles produce more hormones than are needed to produce sperm. Changes in these hormones associated with thyroid and adrenal problems can interfere with sperm production. Smoking also contributes to the problem.
Diagnosis of low sperm count: The doctor may tell you that by examining your genitals, a test is a sperm test, Scrotal ultrasound, or a Hormone test.
Physical examination: a doctor can examine your genitals and ask questions about any inherited conditions, illness, chronic health problems, injuries or surgery
The link between low sperm count and erectile dysfunction: Low sperm count as a factor is linked to erectile dysfunction according to some studies. The reason is that the ancestral structures of the same minerals control the construction. Minerals such as zinc that increase sperm count are also needed in the sexual response cycle. Low testosterone levels have been shown in studies of erectile dysfunction, and this is similar to low sperm counts. The minerals and hormones involved are similar, it can be concluded that low sperm counts can effectively indicate erectile dysfunction.
